How to cure cough with homeopathy?

Whether it is dry or oily? Night or day? How to take care of your cough while respecting the natural process of our body thanks to homeopathy?

The first step to take to take charge of your cough is first to realize that it is the body’s natural defense against microbial attacks (viruses or bacteria). It is also necessary to distinguish the dry cough which tires and which must be calmed, from the “productive” fatty cough which must be respected and accompanied.

Cough symptoms: Chest oppressed, low fever. The cough, often dry at first, can become fatty with phlegm, even chronic.

Objective of homeopathy treatment against cough : Space out exhausting crises, regain sleep and breath. Classical medicine is helpless in the face of these symptoms (cough suppressants if a dry cough, thinners when it is oily, corticosteroids as a last resort).

The solution:Coughing is a natural reaction of the respiratory tract which seeks to expel bulky or irritating agents. Doctors distinguish a “productive cough” with expectoration from a dry cough, which is exhausting in vain. In homeopathy, the distinctions are even finer, as shown by the recommendation of Dr.Chemouny (author of the Guide to homeopathy, ed. O. Jacob) .

Homeopathy remedies according to the type of cough

When the cough is dry , painful and nocturnal (in tracheitis for example) associated with dryness of the nose and mouth and intense thirst: use Bryonia 5 CH : 5 granules every 2 hours then space out as and when improvements.

In the event of spasmodic coughs, especially suffocating (coughing fits) with a permanent sensation of tickling of the throat “as with a feather” pushing the individual to cough very frequently, especially at night, when he is warm in his bed: take Drosera rotundifolia 15 CH : 5 granules 3 times a day.

The strain Ipeca e st recommended if nauseating cough with difficult expectoration. In the event of a spasmodic cough with suffocation or in the event of fits of cough, which can cause nausea and vomiting, also characterized by a significant production of mucus (the cough is said to be fatty or productive, the individual has mucus that he has trouble expectorating) : Ipeca5 CH : 5 granules every 10-15 minutes until sputum appears, then every hour for 24 hours.

Low dilutions favor sputum and high dilutions act more on spasms .

When the cough subsides just after taking a sip of cold water: Cuprum metallicum 9 CH : 5 granules 3 times a day.

In case of cough appearing with the onset of nasopharyngitis . This cough is often triggered by drafts, but also triggered or even aggravated by inhaling cold air: Rumex crispus 5 CH : 5 granules 3 times a day.

Rumex is used to limit inflammation due to laryngitis and pharyngitis but has no actual anti-tussive purpose.

When the cough is fatty with a strong production of mucus: Antimonium tartaricum 5 CH : 5 granules every 10 to 15 minutes until the appearance of sputum, then renew the intake of 5 granules every hour for 24 hours.

Use low dilutions (4 or 5 CH) to promote secretions, and on the contrary higher dilutions (9 or 15 CH) to stop them.

The Coccus Cacti strain is used as an anti-inflammatory agent for the respiratory tract and is used to treat dry nocturnal coughs of the pertussis type . We recommend low dilutions 7 to 9 CH: 5 granules every hour until symptoms improve.

Other natural medicines that also work to effectively treat coughs

– Oligotherapy (use of trace elements). Ask the pharmacist for doses of manganese-copper (one per day during the crisis, then three doses the following week).

– Essential oils (ET). The Oil Cypress Essential calm irritation, relieves congestion. The essential oil of eucalyptus , antibacterial and antiviral, helps eliminate coughs. A mixture to breathe one hour morning and evening (in a diffuser or a bowl of water placed on the radiator).

– Ivy-based syrups are known to soothe coughs without inconvenience. Available over the counter in pharmacies.

Cough is not a disease but a symptom. In the event of a persistent cough, dry or oily , it is best to consult your healthcare professional to identify the cause.
